Post History

Lowell Beaver Post 470 was chartered on June 13, 1947, in Fishers, Indiana.    When the post was founded, there was a total of 57 chartered members as part of our original post.   Stephen W. Rihatican was our first official post commander for our Lowell Beaver Post.  

Lowell Beaver was born in Fishers, Indiana, on January 29, 1918.  As a Fishers High School graduate in 1935, Lowell enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on December 1, 1941.    Sadly, Lowell Beaver passed away during World War II on March 24, 1945. 

To date, we have over 600 Legionaries members at our 9091 East 126th Street location, which has been our home since 1991.
